How do YOU unload your firearm for the 1500? Do you unload at the door? Or do you unload in your vehicle?

Which is the safer and better procedure?

knowing that I have to unload at the 1500, I leave mine in the car unless I'm having it worked on at the show and just carry my knife instead.

if I'm having it worked on, I'll unload in the car and grab and empty mag if one is needed.

I would go with general range practices. Bring your gun into the show with the slide/action locked and unloaded. I also recommond against having a fully loaded magazine at the ready.

Maybe I'll see you at the show. Approach me, I'm jolly. (Jolly entails chubby, lol)

Just unload it in the parking lot! I hear parking lots have magical powers that prevent NDs!

Be nice if there was a couple sand barrels at the entrance

I won't leave mine in the car, absolulty no security at the fairgrounds outside in the parking lots

At the 1500 I carry very deeply concealed, only way to know it is there is if they start frisking folks at the door, at which time I wouldn't go anyways. My carry gun is not for sale or trade so it won't see daylight unless I need it to protect my life. I do not leave guns in the car.

I've heard that some use this approach, concealed means concealed, don't touch the loaded gun in the show, if you are taking a gun that you plan on handling unload it at home and carry a second one concealed, not saying to do this.

Problem is too many people just can't resist showing off the gun they carry and can't seem to keep it in their holster. I saw this all the time in my shop, guys would just have to pull out their carry gun even tho they had absolutely no interest in trading it or selling it...just had to show you that they were a real man and carried a gun, sorta like a dog marking it territory.

If I plan on trading, selling, or finding accessories for it, I unload in the car. If I dont plan on selling, trading or upgrading, i keep it concealed, and it doesn't leave my holster.

last spring a remember quite a few getting broken into and firearms being stolen.

i'd carry it in with me, but here in the socialist state of ohio, we can't even unload and have our weapons ziptied and be on the fairgrounds... UHGGGG

I unload in the car but I do wish they would have snips for the ties, I never remember to bring a pair. I would hate to think of what would happen if a shot was fired inside, nothing good would come out of that. By the way it has happened.

I've unloaded in the parking lot (at my car), and put my full mag (and the +1) in my pocket. Sand barrels would be nice. Not disarming would be nicer.
Yep thats what me & my buddy's do. Then soon as you walk out the door cut your zip-tie & load back up for your trip to the car.:draw:
