Merchan addressed Trump’s concern directly, noting the court “is a fair, impartial, and apolitical institution.”

“Adjourning decision on the motion and sentencing, if such is required, should dispel any suggestion that the Court will have issued any decision or imposed sentence either to give an advantage to, or to create a disadvantage for, any political party and/or any candidate for any office,” Merchan added.

The ENTIRE witch hunt trial sealed the deal on that one. It was to go after Trump to stop him from running right from the start.

As the Wizard said in the Wizard of Oz: Once you pull back the curtain on Harris and Walz: there "Ain't no Way - Ain't no How" those two idiots will be able to stand up to the likes of Putin, Xi, Hamas, Ayatollah, or Kim on the world stage and maintain the United States as the pre-eminent super-power in the world.
These two clowns just do not have a set of balls between them to compete against these foreign leaders and the existential threats they pose against the free world.
Too bad the Skeptical Republicans aren't smart enough to see this situation.
    God save America, Please?

I think the judges reasoning is this.
If Trump is elected I'm in deep trouble. So he can give him a slap on the wrist, and walk away.
If Trump isn't elected he can lay down the law, and send him away for maximum sentence the law allows.
    Just my opinion that is.

They really believe their own s***…

"I think the challenge, not just for journalists, but really for the country, is that not only is Donald Trump a threat, but, you know, it lowers the bar. So I don’t think it’s unacceptable. And I think it’s important for our role as journalists to really push every candidate for office."
But Mara Gay was just getting started. Again, this is a seasoned, experienced journalist.

"It’s just the context is difficult because of the extremism of the Republican Party, because of how extreme Donald Trump is, it’s hard to hold both candidates accountable equally, because one is committed to democracy and is functioning as a normal candidate from a normal American party, and the other is not. And so, you know, this is really about the extremism of the Republican ticket. And it’s important to hold all candidates accountable. It’s just that when you do that, it does sometimes sound a little silly because given the breadth of what the vice president is offering the American people, there is no comparison with Donald Trump."

They will use it as another impeachment basis as soon as he is elected. It's baked in.
Same with the J6 insurrection bull ****, it's never going away.
Sham trials will be the new normal.
I would go scorched earth on them if I were President Trump.

Where is The House Un-American Activities Committee.
Much of the stuff happening today would not be happening without prison sentences.
Not just this, but the protests the Socialist/Communist agenda being pushed, taught at our schools, and promoted through the media/Hollywood as well.

    .
A harris victory will set the republican party back into the 1970s. I think Indiana's current governor, expecting a return to that leadership, is polishing his new world order credentials for a losing run at the presidency in 2028. He'll be the first in a steady string of c-o-c failures. Maybe he'll take todd along as vp.

While I can sympathize with the sentiment, I been told that too many times to believe it this time. Can never find anyone willing to wager on it.

I did however, know a guy who made a few thousand betting a guy who was convinced Trump would come back after Jan 6th and be installed as president.
I remember that. And if you disagreed with any of the faithful, oh boy. Good ole days.
