Lighting is everything. I don't know what kind of camera you'll be using, but try setting the shutter on bulb setting and let the muzzle flash illuminate the glitter.

Here's an idea, get 2 of the biggest hex nuts you can fit down the barrel and tie them together with some of that braided metal wire you hang heavy pictures on your wall with. Here's a few more things off the top of my head:

    Marbles

    Whole pepper kernels

    Carpet Tacks

    X-Acto knife blades

    Gumballs

    Match heads only

    Spam

    Bedazzler Gems!

If the chalk cloud prank shell intrigues you, remember that they sell powdered chalk at hardware stores for chalk line refills. Available in various colors!

Have fun and looking forward to the pics :ar15:

See if you can find some airsoft paintballs

Used carbide machining inserts (probably would tear up your barrel)

    Pop tabs

A foosball if it will fit

When I was younger, a buddy had a shootin' car (yeah, BFE type of buddy :D ) and did exactly that, horsed with shells.

Matchheads: INCREDIBLE light show! Most of which came out of the barrel, as opposed to at the car. Melted a wad in the barrel.
Sand: Scoured the crap out of the barrel's internal finish, got alot in our eyes.
Batteries: small ones. Said he wanted to make "acid rounds". Spectacular fail (no melting or even finish wear outside of a hole in the car), but did slam into it with some authority.
.45 muzzleloading bullet: Horrible accuracy, but had some oomph on the car.
Paperclips: Almost no accuracy, made some interesting scalloped indents on the car.
Washers: No real accuracy, not good penetration, MESSED UP THE CAR WINDOW BIGTIME! We figured it was due to the flatness of the washers and enough of them busting up the windows.
Cosmetics: Patterned after a (at the time) recent Simpson's episode featuring a costmetics gun. Actually dented the metal, not safe for human usage :D

One can have LOTS of fun with shells. :D

I want to hang with you guys!!

sorry guys glitter was junk . shot it at a snow man 10 feet away very little glitter .
glitter glue work better , more like paintball almost.
however playdoh works best for blowing snow man away :D
    i'll try chalk dust soon.
