I know some of you guys do but you are not honest or proud enough to say on a public forum that you do.

Perhaps, but I doubt it has anything to do with honesty or pride. It is simply unwise to announce that you do something illegal on a public forum, regardless of if it is essentially right or wrong. When the tide turns, I'm sure plenty will come forward and say "yeah I always smoked marijuana, even when it was illegal", until then, though, we can simply keep trying to get us to that point by swaying as many people as possible to see not only the economical and health benefits of legalizing marijuana, but to also see the FACT that we already have the right as a human being to do what we want to our own bodies. When many of us are willing to accept it and pressure our legislatures, then we can change the laws.

No, I don't smoke it anymore. I've been clean a long time. But I used to. And if it were legal, I'd smoke it again. If I didn't have to worry about a DOT test and worry about repeated tests, yea, I'd probably smoke once in a while. But it's been years since i've smoked. If I did smoke it, I'd be honest and say I did.

I do. I have 3 misdemeanors. But it's not the possession of pot charge that hurts me finding a job. If it were, the felons that work at most places I've applied wouldn't have a job.

Just as racism is part of human nature (we're all prejudice to some degree), the desire to have a good time is as well. Some people like to work on cars, some people like to drink. Some people like to go fishing, and some people like to smoke a joint. Even if you rid America of every drug out there, people would find or make something different, and probably more harmful.

And of all people, I can't believe you would say that the government should regulate or outlaw salt and sugar. Seriously, I can't believe someone like you would advocate more laws because people can't self-regulate themselves. That post right there is a cry for gun control, food control, freedom control, and life control all in one.

How can you judge the effects of medicine on another persons body? The medical profession would love to conduct some joint research with you.

Are you going to tell this Vietnam veteran and lifelong Republican he can't have his medicine? What about the woman who was prescribed so many pain medications, because doctors said it was all they could do, and suffered renal failure as a result?

Or would prefer they are prescribed overvalued and highly addictive prescription pain medications. How will you guarantee these people don't wind up like Rush Limbaugh or Brett Farve; docotr shopping all over the U.S. and breaking the law in the process?

There is a balance of freedom and order. I don't think a free-for-all orgy among drug addicts is a good thing. There are some things that are flat wrong and pose a threat to the liberty of others. I've been in a 11 year battle with a family member that is an addict, and the damage done to herself and our family, as well as other victims of her behavior, is immeasurable. If you are deprived of your right to screw yourself up with this stuff, I am sorry. (Actually, I'm really not.)

I'll be sure to check with you to see if any other thoughts I have are American or not.

I'm not for gun control at all. I'm not for the government telling me what to do at all. But I do think all drugs should be illegal. Make pot legal thru a prescription? That's just another way to KEEP it in this country. We have the ability to do open heart surgery. Operate on someone's brain. Perform organ transplants. You can't tell me we can't find a way to make a medicine to help bones, joints and all that. There's a way to do it. Just get the drugs out of here.

And I never said the government should outlaw sugar and salt. I do think something should be done. People are literally eating themselves to death. You can't tell me you don't think something should be done about this. Have you ever seen a young kid that was too fat to ride a bike? I have. I've seen another young boy that had diabetes, actually had to have a foot amputated. Yes, I think something should be done. I will not change my mind about my post. sorry you dont get it. you dont get to pick and choose freedoms. you either have it, or you dont. you do wrong, you get punished. you do right, you get rewarded. why does everyone think that if drugs are legalised then it will be across the board drug abuse acceptance? if you are a drug abuser then there are consequences, not only on yourself by yourself, but from authority also.

a person (a family member) that abuses drugs and is causing family problems, then you can either offer them help and if they dont accept it then let them be, its their life. you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink. If your family is screwed up from a family member who uses drugs then your the one who keeps subjecting yourselves to it. I would'nt have anything to do with them!
