This really is a panic.
No, THIS is a panic.

This really is a panic.
Even the Eiteljorg Museum has gotten on the bandwagon. Just got their "We Welcome All" email. Here's a little snippet of what they're using to prove that they welcome all...
"Cultural diversity enriches our world and is an important part of the Eiteljorg Museum's mission. For this reason, we adopted an official diversity statement more than a decade ago. Exhibitions like Blake Little: Photographs from the Gay Rodeo and our ongoing Out West programming are illustrative of our effort to introduce guests to the many peoples who are a part of Western and Native art, history and cultures. The museum has always been, and will continue to be, open and welcoming to all."
Good article. I really don't understand the basis for the outcry against this law other than fear and ignorance. Equality should be a good thing, but seems as if some people will never be satisfied with equality, but insist on domination, oppression, and suppression. For a generation that prides itself on tolerance, we must be THE most INTOLERANT generation of Americans that has ever lived. Why the need to force someone to participate in something that they don't want to have any part of and can not accept? Does anyone claim a "right" to order a ham sandwich from a Jewish Delicatessen? Of course not. Christian participation in a homosexual wedding, whether by virtue of baking a cake, providing photographer services, renting the facility, musicians, etc., is just as ridiculous.
Not at all. If you want an example of using the law against GLBTs, you'll have to wait longer than 5 days after signing. But I have no doubt that it will be used against them.
Your turn: do you really think it won't be used against them?
You guys are 73% of the country, 90% of Congress, and have the state legislature making laws on your behalf. You'll excuse me if I don't have a ton of sympathy for your plight. So, since anti-discrimination laws providing "special" protections to the LBGT crowd have been used against Christians, I suppose you should oppose those as well...hmmmm?
Westboro has given notice that they will be here in support of the law. My unit deals with this stuff so we will likely be following them around all day. Not sure which day they will be here but I'm detailed to Final Four all day Saturday so we'll see. Can't wait for their Westboro Baptist Church or KKK exhibits.

Good for them. They are true believers. You can't fault them.

Who is this "you guys" you refer to?
You guys would be Christians. And I have enough advantages as a straight white male already that I don't really worry myself with whether someone else is getting an advantage from the law that I don't - for example, affirmative action, often called reverse discrimination, isn't something I have an objection to.And also, do you support laws that discriminate against white people, since they are the majority of the country and Congress? No sympathy for them, right?

You are asking what good comes from this bill if a person is gay?
It's a bill. This bill doesn't care if you're gay. Why would it?
On that note - I just changed to a new dog food last week. What possible upside is there for GLBTs?
See - It doesn't make any since. Does it......
Y for example, affirmative action, often called reverse discrimination, isn't something I have an objection to.
If I trusted the people that brought us this law not to use it to do harm, then your explanation would be enough for me. But, I don't.That's not equality under the law.
Equality under the law isn't just about "fairness". It's about morality and liberty.
It also allows for a logical metric when weighing laws and policy: preserve liberty, and allow no direct harm from one person to another.
