There is a fan theory, Jar Jar was suppose to be revealed that he was actually a Sith Lord. Search You tube for the video.

Biggest thing wrong with I II and III was that hack Lucas wrote them himself. Unfortunately the story arc was pretty constrained by what had come before. That would've made it hard for a good writer.
