    Some times we are down on today's media and rightfully so.

    If you watch these documentaries you will note that a lot of times the filmographer is out in front of the troops.

    But he did not need to worry, under fire, he just took cover behind a pair of giant brass ones.

    Omaha beach.I took some sand for some INGOers.:patriot:
    Museums in the area sell little glass tubes to bring back some sand (empty) since I think it's technically illegal to remove any sand.


    That's at Utah Beach, the Higgins memorial.
    I might go there next weekend.

    It's fairly new (2015) memorial with a full size landing craft.

    My dad was in the Army and rarely at an Army base, so I was able to see the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds a number of times over the years. To this day, even if only on TV, the missing man formation still chokes me up a bit. Not sure that's what they were in the midst of, but that is a great picture, in any case. :yesway:
