I guess the plus side to that is that you don't have to worry about flushing toilets... ;)

I have a small genny. And I have to start it and hook it up. So, usually I just wait the power outage.
One day, maybe a generac. my parents got one last year.

And, I used to have a well, but they ran city water a few years ago.
BUT, for sewage, they hooked up a grinder pump. So, I only have so many flushes before the tank to the pump fills up, and then no more flushes.

Yeah, I just got a grinder pump too a couple of months ago. :xmad: There was nothing wrong with my septic. At least I still have my well.

Fast moving storm with pretty good sustained winds for a while. Lost a couple of branches out of my big eastern pines, but no other damage.

I have a 5500/8000w portable(not very fun to roll around) That I can plug in if needed. I usually wait to see how long the power is out before I drag it out.

I need to at least get a transfer switch put in so that's an option.

I need to do the same. Right now I have to pull the fuse block downstream of the meter and back feed from the detached garage. While I was watching the wind blow my overhead lines around like a jump rope, I probably need to invest in buried lines while I'm at it.:spend:
