Wikileaks transparent ties to Russian intel makes it, at least, a front for Russian intel.

Right now, they're doing all they can to support Trump. Wait until he's no longer useful. No one here should pretend that they don't have dirt on every other politician.

Are they going to make it all public? I don't see a downside.

So here's a brain shock. WikiLeaks, at least in the beginning, was more about whistleblowers.

What if Weiner selectively leaked the Podesta emails? I know there's a story going around (the veracity of which I accept at face value) that it was the result of a spear phishing effort at HRC's campaign staff. But, just because they were incompetent with that doesn't draw a direct line to that being the source of the leaks.

    Just some random speculation.

There is some evidence that the WikiLeaks came from none other than our own government. Specifically the FBI. Just saying.

Thank you, I just needed a calibration check. If you are interested, I think this article is a good summary of info on current stock trends, gold trends, and potential interest rate changes:
Are markets predicting a surprise Trump win? - CBS News

On the flip side of that coin.........
"Are the markets predicting a hitlary win and subsequent government turmoil/constitutional crisis for the foreseeable future?"
Hitlary being elected in the midst of rampant corruption will result in loss of faith in the stability of the U.S. around the world. :twocents:

Some icky midday notes! « Gary K
We know we have a maniacal Fed meeting tomorrow. We know we have an election next Tuesday that looks like as of this juncture, anything is possible. But absent the Fed announcing another round of QE, our thoughts of the market deteriorating continues. In fact, on a daily basis, the underlying action continues to worsen. While the Dow and S&P continue to hold the vital support we have outlined for you, the Russell 2000 has already gave way while many sectors continue in their own private bear markets.
In fact, we can maybe count on one hand the sectors that have good relative strength and in uptrends while a ton of areas are being bludgeoned. Have you seen what they have done to everything healthcare lately?
We are also noticing something else. Names like Panera,Tesla, Google have strong reaction to earnings only to immediately sell off and break down. This is not good news. So to repeat, if at any time the DOW takes out 17,950-18,000 and the S&P takes out 2114-2119, get out the fork.
Watch the semis and the financials. These have been the two strongest areas. We believe a break of support would coincide with these two strong areas finally topping out.
Lastly and to repeat, the market has been and is again acting like it did late last year in advance of the January smackdown. Stock by stock and sector by sector, the market’s underpinnings were giving way. Under all that weight, the major indices finally gave way. Of course, another round of gargantuan QE by Japan, Europe and China stanched the bleeding in February. Will they have more in store if markets buckle?
Going to be quite the interesting next couple weeks.

Let's not conflate speculation and facts.

We now know of a vague letter written by Comey to Congress saying that they found some emails on Weiner's computer that may be linked to the Clinton email investigation. He wrote the letter before they had the warrant to open the emails, which implies that Comey did not know anything about the emails other than that they are on that computer. Maybe there will be more evidence that suggests the intent on Hillary's part that Comey said he didn't have earlier.

Or, what's on that computer may only impugn Huma for having State Department emails on an unauthorized device. Either way, I wouldn't expect much more to come of this.

I have read that they examined the metadata for the emails in the file (perhaps no warrant needed for that?) and the indication was "ding, ding, ding!" thus the bending over backwards cautiion to make sure they have airtight legal authority to examine them

Definitely a fair point, it could actually be a bit of both since both would push things in the same direction even if the actors have differing viewpoints. As we are fond of saying on INGO, embrace the power of "and"
