I have to repaint the hood of my van tomorrow.

Painted it in my basement this morning. Had just finished when the AC kicked on and blew a bunch of $%#$^%% dirt in the fresh paint. :xmad:

My fault, I forgot to turn it off.

Hope I can sand it out and not have to strip it again.

It's just our beater minivan, but I want the hood to look right

I know, I have worked that area. Witnessed a car/buggy accident back in 2004, wasn't pretty. Killed the horse.
The Amish don't come out good on the incident. As a child, I remember them riding on the shoulders of the roads. Then the county said they had to have license plates. After that, they started riding on the roads.

I'm cheap when it comes to this van, it really is just a beater we use to haul stuff. Paint was peeling off in sheets on the hood & roof. Roof I don't care what it looks like, so the dirt in the new paint doesn't bother me. Nobody sees it.

But you see the hood all of the time, so I have to fix it. Had to be repainted, 75% of the paint has peeled of this past year, Wasn't going to spend "Pro" money on it.

Something about 1996 Dodge Caravans in White. We saw one in Kentucky last weekend that was losing the paint in the same places.
The cancer on Dodge / Chrysler comes free with purchase.

Loooooong time ago (1979 & 1980) I was a spray painter at a GM factory. Still remembered how to do it.

    The secrets come out!

That 2 years at the factory were very educational. Worked 3rd shift with the biggest group of druggies & thieves you could imagine.

Was painting one night and noticed my partner was painting the same spot over & over. After I finished my side I went to see what was wrong. He said he was glad to see I was okay, because when I was up on the roof I looked like I was melting. Guy was on an Acid trip.
