My dad tried to teach me to rope. I was doing good to hang on and ride! That stupid pony that I got stuck with was pure evil. He was 3/4 horse...his dad was a huge appy and his mom was a welsh pony. Champ (our horse/pony) was almost the same size as our quarter horses...just a bit shorter. He would run straight at every low branch to try to knock you off. If that didn't work, he'd try to rub you off on a tree trunk...and if that didn't work, he'd try to roll in the dirt with me on his back. He and I had a lot of go arounds....and around and around. I'd whip his nose to his side and hold it there and make him go in circles until he behaved. We got dizzy a lot!
