My wife grew weary of hanging on for dear life behind me and asked for a bike. 1 week later she was the very proud owner of a brand new Harley Dyna Wide Glide. I sent her to Abate and after she got done dropping her new bike...3 times practicing in parking lots....she rolled out and did very well for about 3 years. She hit a loose manhole cover and went down hard right in front of me. I near ran over her. She lost interest in holding on to the handle bars after that. Was not so bad behind me after all. She still sports some scars and a bit of pain from that day.
I dropped it once while I was learning, hit gravel in a turn. scuffed my hands up bad (riding gloves aren't such a bad idea) and tore my right knee up a bit.
I regret that I couldn't rationalize my fear, I enjoyed being in control

Oh absolutely! I used to ride... Bad accident kinda scared me away from it, I mostly rode dirt tracks on a Suzuki 250. My dad owned a '69 Harley Sportster in the 70's-80's. He sold due to financial issue. I had hoped to inherit that bike. Just friggin beautiful!

I started on a 82 Yamaha when I was like 16, graduated to a Sportster after a couple of years, sold the sporty and got the bagger in my avatar...then bought a Buell just for fun, hope to turn it in to a bobber to run around town on

One word: OUCH! My accident left me with multiple broken bone (including both wrists) and a concussion, with a cracked helmet (I'd be dead if not for that).

I used to ride. Bought my first and only bike from a coworker and at the time I had never been on a bike. It was a early 1972 Honda CB 450. That was in 1981, gave the guy $500 for it and he taught me how to ride.....it was more of a sink or swim kind of lesson.

I've owned a few bikes in the past, but all I have now is one of these...

Bike on the right was the wifes. My buddies used to get her out without me. I would be upside down busy in my shop building someone elses bike and she wanted to ride so I would call them. They would roll up and put her in the middle of the pack and roll out. She loved it. They watched out for her and it really helped advance her skills.

I subscribed to the thread. I may be able to go. Not sure yet, April is usually pretty busy. I know 7, 8 & 9th are out for me.

I don't really have a specific date in mind, trying to get a feel for what works for the majority of people...I'm good with pushing it to May or June even
