Back in my drinking days I wouldn't go to Knox or Bass Lake without a redneck friend or 2.

We looked at property all over before buying here. We really did not know much about the area, but found a piece of property we fell in love with that was what hubby was looking for at the right price. He wanted enough ground to hunt and I wanted to raise my kids in the country. The area has some negative aspects for sure, but I think everywhere has its good and bad. It's what you make of it.

We've been here for almost 20 years and some still look at us as outsiders. Others have become great friends and neighbors. There are a lot of people in our immediate neighborhood who have been here a lot less time than we have.
