I like 1911's a lot although I've never owned one. They are a well proven and awesome platform. My only real problem with them is their lack of capacity. That's why I bought a Springfield XD45 as my primary EDC. It holds 14 rounds but still shoots a big ole .45! I can't say I have extensive experience with lots of guns but I know I love this one. I can put the rounds where I want them within reason and I have several thousand rounds through this gun and it still shoots like new.

Capacity is my only problem with a 1911 too. But it's easy enough to carry spare single stack mags.

I did way too much work today. Time for a shower and some comfy clothes. I already got my first ginormous rum and coke out of the way. It doesn't really help the backache, but I don't give a about it anymore.

Capacity is my only problem with a 1911 too. But it's easy enough to carry spare single stack mags.

I carry a single stack 9mm every day with 2 mags. I figure if 17 rounds isn't enough, I'm screwed.

I can carry 18 with my Ruger SR9c or my Beretta 92 with no extra mags. But I have thought about getting a smaller gun for deeper concealment.

I'm not a big guy. A single stack allows me to comfortably sit without the handle sticking me in the kidneys.
