I paid $270 for 4 Pirelli tires with 62000 mile rating and all A ratings in 2001. It was about $600 for comparable tires last year.

Fuel costs have done a lot of damage in the price of everything from grocery's to tires. Not the sole reason but a major factor.

I got Toyo last time, about 2 years ago I think. Michelin was cheaper but we've had toyo on all the trucks and they always do well. Hated that I went in and told them what I wanted yet they felt the need to tell me this was better, or this was cheaper. I need this warranty etc etc. Finally looked them in the eye and said "Yes I am a female, I not your typical female though and I know what I want and don't want. Sell me what I came in for or I will go elsewhere." I got what I asked for, with a smile.
