Evening all. Anybody have any advice for me regarding a frosted electrical outlet?

Could be a hole is your wall insulation behind the outlet that let the cold air in?
The solution could be just using some insulation foam around that outlet, inside the wall.

Yeah, that's kind of what Sparky said and what I was thinking, but I was unsure as I have never dealt with this before.

Not something I would recommend. I'm no genius when it comes to electricity but mixing it with popsicles doesn't sound like a good idea. On a semi-related note I now have the song "Electric Avenue" in my head.

I just pulled the face plate off and there is already a foam cover behind it. Posting pictures in that thread momentarily.

I already feel like that when I hear you guys have to shovel snow and I can go outside in flip flop to get the mail.

Generator gassed up and running - should be good for 10~12 hours while I sleep. Fire is going good in the fireplace. Moved the mattress into the living room opposite the fireplace and have a heating blanket on the bed as well as a small space heater going.

Picked up and filled up 3 five gallon gas cans - filled the generator [7.2 gallons] and then refilled the two gas cans. Have enough fuel to run for 24~48 hours depending on load.

Should be able to make it through this until the power is back on thankfully. Took my son to my mom's house because I know he would be super fussy due to it being chilly in here [it's not freezing anymore, but not hot either].
