Do have a Generac GP5500 5.5kw but that's a portable and not a standby. By standby I mean permanently mounted to a concrete pad with a natural gas line and an automatic transfer switch.
I do need to take the GP5500 to the shop to have the power panel replaced - it was broken out of the box [it wasn't handled nicely in shipping, there was a huge hole in the box] but I had no choice as I had no power and it was the only generator I could find . Generac's warranty is pretty good so I don't expect to have any issues.

the boys cooked and cleaned the kitchen after supper. of course they have been off for 3 weeks. and they are both off tomorrow too
