I noticed somthing about that pic, the knife looks to be longer than it should be. The handle is just over 6" the blade is supposed to be 11 1/2", does that look right?

Probabaly, the handle I think looks shorter because of the grips. The very back of the handle to the front (I'm guessing just behind the choil or right up to it) it probably just shy of half the blade length.
