Have you guys seen doomsday Preppers on Nat Geo.

They were at a range practicing their shooiting when one of the 10/22's malfunctioned. "the gun expert" dad while trying to "fix" the malfunction put his thumb over the end of the barrel and proceeds to shoot himself in the thumb.
expert opinion: he needs more professional firearms training.

    here is the bonehead.

the video linked doesn't show the results. But he lost the middle knuckle in his thumb.

What is the difference in a 10.5 and a 12.5 inch barrel? Other than two inches and the price. I'm talking functionality. I assume () the 12.5 has higher velocity and better accuracy, but has more weight?

Oh, I just like the full rail so that the Pig Flash Suppressor goes back to it.

If you want higher velocity and better accuracy get the 16" or longer.

I know you like that.. I'm asking the diff between the 10.5 and the 12.5. I know there are fanboys of both. I just don't know why. I would not own anything longer than 16"

Yeah, a longer barrel will give you more accuracy and more velocity. But I'm not sure how much 2" really gets you. Maybe it helps with a better grip :dunno:
