If it's a 16" barrel, it's more than likely already threaded and you can unscrew it yourself.

BTW, before you order something from them next time, I know a great guy from another firearms site that can beat Whittaker's deals even with shipping and will sell you mags at cost when buying a gun...When I bought my LR308b from him, he sold me 20rd mags for $5-6.00 a piece when they were running ~$20.00 a piece everywhere else.

No it was boxed up in back, they had a display model. Felt like I was shoe shopping

Weird...If it's a 16 inch barrel, there's no reason for the manufacturer(what is it, BTW?) to permanently attach the FS...I don't see how it would save that much money in doing so and it also gives the buyer less options.
