The answer is curly maple.
That's what the handles are made of. I just used different wood stain on each one. A little stock sheen and they almost glow.
So that pattern in the wood is just natural? That's pretty cool.

I know you can find the mandrels (?) for forging the heads. That would give you a uniform eye spec'd for standard handles.
I had an idea to make some mini-hawks. Maybe about 6 or 7 inches long. I though they would be cheap to make and a lot of fun to play with.
Actually, I though about trying make a one-piece hawk like K80 did.
I want a plasma cutter.
In the 40 watt range?
