I gave up on my own little sidewalk and driveway. I don't have any idea how all those school sidewalks and lots are gonna get cleared. I don't think there's enough salt in the ocean for all that ice.

we used a metal shelf to break up the ice into chunks, then shoveled the chunks over into the "grass" and threw ice melt down to clear a path up into our store....girl power

I went out after the sun had been shining on it and then hit it with a metal rake. The real heavy kind, like a garden rake, not a leaf rake.

I see how that could work. My drive is not sloped hardly at all and the ice is over 6" thick on my walk. So I just said the heck with it.

I gave up at home. The shop is another story. Someone had plowed the sidewalk so the ice was very thin. With the warm sun it melted this afternoon. The back parking lot is another story. As long as I get the steps clear I'll be happy.
