    Don't know if you're still here, CM, but for the record, when freezing tomato puree or anything liquid, use good freezer bags, and thaw them in a bowl. Once in a while they leak through a seam or a hole in the bag.

    Gotcha. We buy/use the good freezer storage bags as we buy in bulk at Sams. Bacon/meats/etc get portioned and frozen for later use.
    Just never thought about doing this with maters.
