How do you store them for the long term...???

Freeze them. Then we can make goulash, spaghetti sauce, etc, with them later. You could chop them instead of pureeing, but 1) I'm lazy, and 2) I don't like chunks of tomato in my sauce anyway.

Don't know if you're still here, CM, but for the record, when freezing tomato puree or anything liquid, use good freezer bags, and thaw them in a bowl. Once in a while they leak through a seam or a hole in the bag.

Don't know if you're still here, CM, but for the record, when freezing tomato puree or anything liquid, use good freezer bags, and thaw them in a bowl. Once in a while they leak through a seam or a hole in the bag.

Gotcha. We buy/use the good freezer storage bags as we buy in bulk at Sams. Bacon/meats/etc get portioned and frozen for later use.
Just never thought about doing this with maters.
