Got the yard mowed earlier so that is a plus for today.

Had any of them been there on D Day?

They fought in Normandy prior to D-Day, in 1942.

No, but sadly probably one of the last time they can come.
Tomorrow will be the 75th anniversary of their landing.
One of the vet that was supposed to be here was 101 years old, he passed away a few months ago I believe.

We are loosing them quickly now.

I was happy to see that they were treated like rockstars.

I tried not to bother them too much.They were stopped for pictures all the time.

They are staying at the best hotel we have around here, and have a bus that take them to different ceremonies where people take pictures of them.
Just like rockstars.

There was lots of security too.I never seen that many cops and soldiers around here.
Still it was easy to approch them.

I would think that just average people coming up to them is very important to them.

I apprently took over 200.

There was also an exhibition of WW2 vehicles.
