Around here people won't touch "free". Put it in the yard like you want to keep it and it'll be gone.

Plenty of scrappers. The price of scrap sucks so I guess they don't want to bother

db, it's so bad here, they tear apart furniture to get any scrap metal out, then leave the mess for the homeowner to clean up

There's a complete school bus on some ground that I picked up and a 60s Ford 100, nobody is bothering them so I figure scrap is pretty low.

come to think of it, hubby had a tire and rim in the carport. It was covered with a rug that hung over the fence. I don't remember seeing that recently, he threw the rug away

He never had it turned back on when he got out of jail about 10 years ago. I should post a picture of his place...you all would be really impressed. When it is going to rain, he hangs his dirty clothes out on the line to get washed.

I live in BFE and people steal everything over here if it even LOOKS like scrap. Actually, I think part of the reason there is no electric at the house I referenced above is because he cut the wire off the pole that used to go from the pole to the house...burned the coating off of it and scrapped it. He's always burning at night when the black smoke isn't as obvious.
