    Here-ya go.

    If you prop the gate all the weight will be on the sheet metal where it meets the prop. The tail will want to droop a bit when the weight is transferred to the tail gate. With a prop in place the springs will not be holding the weight when it comes off the tail. A large dent may ensue at that point.

    A good friend was moving a large crate full of engine parts. I told him we needed to unload the parts and lighten the crate before we tried to remove it from the truck.

    He got a lazy streak and did the prop thing. I again told him not a good idea.
    Smashed in the tail gate. He got pissed at me......:dunno:

    Oh, brand new truck.
