Rural King lifted mine with a forklift and we tilted it back into the bed. Getting it in without the forklift would have been near impossible.

Unloading it involved gravity and terror. That's a LOT of weight teetering on the tailgate.

I helped a guy from work load/move/place a gun safe about the same size as gpa's. (Maybe 600lbs was an exaggeration :dunno:). Gander rolled it to the tailgate on a dolly, and tilted it in. We got to his house, unloaded it, took it around the house through the grass and down the hill to a walk out basement using a regular air tired dolly. I think the tailgate can handle it. That's roughly the weight of 3 guys sitting on it.

Maybe. You've seen my safe... How does this one compare?

Liberty Timber Ridge TR30 safe is 685 lbs. per Gander Mountain. TR25 is 565 lbs.

Dolly it to the tailgate, lean it in on a furniture pad, tilt it up and push it in. That was my plan anyway :dunno:

You are going to rotate 600lbs over a poorly supported tailgate.........Will the support cables handle this much weight.
The tail gate was not designed for this. It might survive. It might drop the safe coming out. Your call but I would get a low trailer for this.

Yes it is. If either of the support cables decides they are no longer happy and let go **** is getting tore up. People might get hurt.

I have moved (successfully) a lot of heavy equipment etc in my time. Always lean to the safe side.

Then again, you may pull this off successfully.

If I hadn't just dropped serious (for me) coin on the safe, I'd have made better arrangements. I was tapped dry, plus it was a flash sale. I got the last one in central Indiana, so there wasn't much time to plan.
