Went to 2 gun shows with money in my pocket and didn't buy anything other than 2 conibear traps and 2 boxes of thin mint girl scout cookies.

I saw a Colt 1911 in 9 mm... I still can't get used to the idea of them in anything other than .45 and .38 super...

Yeah, it just makes no sense to me. In the caliber vs. capacity it is the least of both. Not sure I really understand that.
Like the guys that say they switched to the 9mm for the extra capacity but then tell you they carry a Shield/G43...

But yeah, let's carry a large, very heavy gun in a single stack 9...

I have a 1911 in 9mm. My reasoning was this, I carry a Sig 226 9mm, I shoot a ton of 9mm. Why not have a different gun for range fun that uses the same ammo?
I also bought one in 45, because 1911=45.

Also at the range, a single stack mag help control ammo consumption, you're not burning through it as fast.

Morning, red. Having one for range fun is one thing. Having one for carry is what I'm talking about. Everyone can make their own choices, I just don't understand it.

I carry mine sometimes. I think people that but them just for carry use the same reasoning. Already have a 9mm. Or they like a 1911 but don't like the recoil of the 45

You certainly stuck with the high capacity option :-)
I like those 20 round mecgar mags in the 226.
