To someone who lives in Normandy it looks nothing like Normandy (same thing with all the movies about D-Day).It was shot in Corscica I believe.

It was shot a few years after the end of the war I believe.You probably still had tanks and ruins on the actual beaches.

1962 Is when it was shot.
