That was me. I did take half of the profit from the sale of the house because I had two kids to feed and knew he would not pay support. When he died, he owed $43,000 in support and medical bills. I told the lawyer I wanted out and I wanted my name back. That was it. Whatever the court ordered was up to the court, but that was all I wanted.

we agreed on everything, never even saw a judge. sat in the hall at the courthouse as our lawyers were inside. they came out, got signatures, explained it all and 60 days later it was final.

It sucks that so many women make us all look bad for the way they act.

I did get 50% of the equity on the house. The rest we considered an even split.

The mill is a "Port". Even exempt from the Indiana parking lot law.
Which SUCKS.

I like the pickup gadget on the mower, guns are nice too.

In the Navy, we called devices like that "bilge pickers", and I picked up 2 different ones from Menards.
Then 2 clips used to hold tools to the wall. Screwed into the hood.

I liquidated the business, put an account together to cover support and maintenance. Took what was left but my Kawasaki (it was at a friends shop so she could not get it...) in the back of my El Camino and went to Florida. The rest is a total blur. I lived through it. Not sure how but I did. I do know I came back with out the bike on bald tires with a badly slipping clutch.
Oh, I had about $35 in my pocket when I hit town.

I didn't wind up having to split anything. It wouldn't have gone well, but my son really misses his mom. Worked out the best for all except for that, but that's worth a lot.
