Medals and ribbons in the Navy always seemed very random to me. I got a lot for not doing much and never got recognized when I really did.

Very true. My sister has been with loser after loser. The one that beat her was an Leo with little man syndrom. One day he hit her infront if me and I put him in the hospital. That's been years ago now. But I'd do it again of I seen a man hit a woman. Or verbally abusing one. That and someone hurting kids are probably the two things that make me lose it. I really don't lose my cool often. I get mad and nights blow off steam and talk abou it but to act out physically really takes a lot for me anymore. I'd kick ass in a heartbeat for that though.

I was always tought to get it done fast. None of this movie bs where a fight takes afew minutes. If your doing it right were talking seconds. Gotta make to hits count now if I ever get it I one again. I won't have the stamina so I have to be precise.
In a fight your usualy gonna get hit. It's just how many good hits you get in first that matter

I grew up with 3 sisters that at some point all needed me to "Tidy" up for them. I did so with a smile. After a time it came to me that 2 of them were using me for a buffer and unless they were hurt physically I stayed out of their idiocy.
Wifes sisters made some bad choices years back that required intervention.
My daughter had a moment as well. There is still 1 individual on my "I will pound you again and again" list

I have been hit but generally from behind or the side while I am involved with A$$hat #1 directly in front of me. I hate taking shots. It hurts especially the next day.
I think with age we all try and avoid physical confrontation but sometimes you just have to respond in kind.
