Saw my schedule for next week. Not as bad as I thought.
Only 7 shifts, waz expecting 8-9.

But the boneheads scheduled a downturn on 23rd.
Out of a crew of 5, I'll be the only one scheduled, and it's for the 16 hours.
Can't wait to see the list of things I won't be able to get to.

Not much he could do.

One guy is on vacation all of December.
One guy is on vacation next week.
Leaves 3 guys.
One guy on mids.
One guy's day off.
And we're already scheduled 7 shifts to cover vacations.

The boss is NOT on the schedule.
None of the maintenance bosses over me are qualified, have any knowledge how, or even knowledge of what we do.

One boss called us the "magic fairies".
I was getting ready to go on a tirade when an explanation was given.
A boss calls and says, "EMLI isn't working."
Ws show up, sprinkle magic fairy dust, and the problem is fixed.
No one besides us has any clue of how EMLI even works. Pure Magic.

Same for any other instrumentation.
They notice the "process" has a problem.
They think it's a certain sensor.
We look at it, tell them it's a completely different sensor, then go fix it.
They dont know how.

We're sorta the Dr. Houses here.
