I think I'm falling apart. I moved in bed last night and my right hip popped/crunched so loud that it woke up the cat and I honestly thought I had broken my hip. I think I was trying to roll over but that sure woke me up! Good grief....I know I have arthritis in that one, but that was insane.
I sympathize: arthritis bad in both hips, spine and neck and been progressing for 2 decades.
I had one hip surgery and putting off the next b/c of complications.
Every once is awhile when I get some "crunching" it alarms me b/c of what a friend told me happened during his hip replacement surgery.
Thinking he should just live with the pain and put off surgery as long as he could b/c he couldn't take off work for the weeks needed for recovery, but finally he was driven b/c of pain to do so.
During surgery, as they were taking the old ball and socket out, it all dissolved in the surgeon's hand.
Surgeon said he'd never seen anything like that before.
Obviously it complicated the surgery and it really could have been horrendous if it would have dissolved while up walking around on it.
So, just a warning to both of us: don't put off surgery too long or it could be worse!
