Yeah. I had to use a utg rail on my 4.5" 9mm AR because they were the only one I found that made one. Plus I wasn't mounting optics to that part (just a light) so I did it. It's held up just fine. But I do agree with you on a lot of utg stuff. As soon as I find a 4" Daniel defense rail for it I will replace it. They stopped making a 4" one. I takes with the guy who actualy designed their 4" rail at the NRA show. The utg works for now I guess. It doesn't look bad:

I'm with you, if it works it works. Some guys think they can throw a $100 part on their rifle and increase it's resale value by $400. :dunno: I like to think of it as the 22 inch rims of the gun world.

What is this "selling guns" concept you speak of? I've never been able to do such a thing.
Sometimes I lose interest or I'll need quick (untraceable from wife cash) to buy a more expensive gun and I sell or trade. I try to only do it to replaceable type guns, or ones I didn't like shooting or never shot. Also I've been liquidating all my hunting guns over the past year since I'll probably never be able to hunt again, and can buy other guns I want or will use. It still kills me to sell any
