    Thanksgiving plans are still up in the air this year. I think we'll go with a ham though, if we even do anything. DoggyMama's not sure if she'll be home from Florida by then or not. Depends on how her mom is doing and if/when she gets out of rehab.

    When the wife was here, she usually got the cheaper one and I couldn't tell a difference.
    But from what I saw at the grocery, the store brand birds were all the huge 25+ lb birds.
    The Butterballs included the smaller ones.

    That's a lot of turkey. We've had some success storing leftovers in the seal a meal bags.
    Pull a couple lbs out of smoked turkey in January to make turkey pot pies and such.

    It really does stay more moist especially when smoking on a grill.
    It's a commitment to pick through a 25 pounder and freeze that amount.

    I always smoke ours but even for a relatively small bird (12-15 lbs.) it takes a good 6 hours. Not going to bother with that if it's only going to be DoggyMama and me.
