My company, for as long as I've worked for them (20+ years) has never re-imbursed for alcohol. There is no prohibition from drinking in a non-business setting but it's on your own dime
I'm not aware of anyone challenging it or complaining, it always seemed quite quaint but admirable in that the owners obviously had ethical standards and took them seriously (and we are paid very well indeed, so not like it's a hardship). Their party, their rules
Not wanting people drinking on the company dime and potentially doing something to embarrass the company is rather different than limiting the entire menu to, what, Lenten foods (if they allow shrimp). Very SJW-smelling. As for, "Their party, their rules," that was covered by my first sentence.
