As a private company, they can do what they want. I think it is more a sign of the SJW lifestyle that they think this kind of crap is okay, though.

My company, for as long as I've worked for them (20+ years) has never re-imbursed for alcohol. There is no prohibition from drinking in a non-business setting but it's on your own dime

I'm not aware of anyone challenging it or complaining, it always seemed quite quaint but admirable in that the owners obviously had ethical standards and took them seriously (and we are paid very well indeed, so not like it's a hardship). Their party, their rules
