I wouldn't step out on my back porch to see fireworks these days. These drone shows, though, that's cool. So much more to be done with those than just "oooh, colors and noise in the sky", which is the equivalent of jangling keys over an infant writ large.

Maybe that's my issue. I've played with explosives that weren't that colorful but certainly attention getting. I get I'm in the minority on the matter, and that's ok.

The drones are something different and seeing the big 3D show in the sky is more interesting to me, plus I don't really enjoy lots of loud boomy noises. They don't "trigger" me or anything, I just don't like it. So I'll take giant cartoons vs giant jangling keys.

How about a compromise. Typically, at the end of a traditional fireworks display, there's a "grand finale". How about if, at the end of the quiet drone show, they all explode in a spectacular fashion?
