Good point. I will add that pretty much anything they say to us or anything they ask us can and will be used as a trap when the whim arises. That's why limiting you response to some monosyllabic utterances and grunts will serve you best in the long run. It may incite immediate consequences for failure to comply, but minimizes your contribution to the ever growing, never purging mountain of evidence that can and will be used against you a Court of Wife.

Um...no. What response could indicate you didn't see the dress. Just say "I thought it was a vest?...and she should have worn a bra for the last 30 years to maintain perkiness". You have eyes and she does too so don't deny it but provide critical assessment that puts her in a better light than the 'have fun' chick.
