I was at Fort Bragg for 7 years and stayed in the area for for another year. Living in Laurenburg we had 3 inches and it shut down the city for 3 days.

I lived in the Asheville area for 7 years. Had to go to Raleigh for training my first year. There were a few flurries, I think I saw maybe 10 snow flakes. Everything shut down. In the Mountains there was more snow but they had little equipment to deal with and many had no idea of how to drive in it. This should be linked to the North Carolina comment above.

The snow is absolutely true for eastern NC. I'll let you know about the hurricane. We are 40 miles from the coast and directly in the path of the eye of Florence.
