    That's one of the problems. Parents want to be a "friend". And give their kids everything they "want".

    The only time I ate like that in the service was in the Army when the unit was trying to win field mess of the year...blew their whole budget on one deployment (and lost). The rest of the year was not so good.

    The pilots mess on the Teddy R wasn't bad either. AF pretty much expects officers to buy their own food (unless deployed).
