    It looks like that signs spirit is going to hell.

    How would a flat sign create such an ice sheet like that? I vote that one not funny.

    Black absorbs more of the solar energy then the white parts due to reflection. The increased heat would melt the ice more over the black parts of the sign resulting in the embossed image. That or it's a photochop and you're being a Denny.

    I still call BS, and don't tease with the Denny award .
    Plus you can see the sign post clear as day with no visible distortion but nothing of the house behind it. Same as where "Speed" would be, no distortion to the rectangular line around the sign, you would expect to see bit of distortion there or the outline of "Speed" but it stops dead at the black line.
