I have to be honest, as far as enjoying my kids and my relationship with my kids, this is the best time of my life.

My kids are 11, 12, 16 and 18. They can carry on conversations that don't involve baby talk. They can help out around the house. They have senses of humor and can actually get mine...even if they don't want to. The older ones are independently mobile, but still choose to spend most of their time with the family. The oldest one wants to pay his own way in most things and has to be talked into letting me help. The youngest one spent the evening with me yesterday trimming trees and dragging the branches to the burn pile...voluntarily. The girls (12 and 16) are creative and fun to be around....and like their Mom, can make some really good food.

...and I haven't had to change a diaper or clean pee or poo off me or anyone else in nearly a decade.

I work with folks who have young families. One guy has 4 all under the age of 4. And he is going to grad school too. I have to chuckle when I see him wiped out at work. Personally I am in a great spot now too. Mine are 26 and 22, both young men. The oldest is a cop, been married a year this past April. And there is talk of babies! I think being a grandparent is going to be one of the highlights of my life. The youngest will finish college this coming December. He is working for me in our IT department for the summer. This is his second summer working for me in a desktop support position. Not a lot of dads get to work along side of their son. It's pretty cool, and he has developed into a pretty darn good technician. Feeling very blessed this Fathers Day.

A water bladder and baby support gear on the back would balance the load.

I like the way you think! Just brought #3 home a few minutes ago, so off to the interwebs to find some new gear. Looks like I could molle attach a few magazine carriers that would be perfect for bottles, and an admin pouch for diapers and wipes.
