I had to actually look at it for a bit before I understood the "offensive" part. For some reason, I had gone with "he was a bad boy, and got a GIANT lump of coal for Christmas".

I need to work harder at being offended.

My first thought at the "offensive" image was, "Well, he has been pissing down the necks of the entire coal industry for a long time."

It takes a lot to offend me. I see this as more than poor taste. What bothers me is what INGO chooses to keep or excise.

I find being constantly offended by poor taste tiring. One of our LEO frequent contributors made a poor taste joke in another thread basically saying God does not exist. Yeah, as a Christian, I could claim offense to that but I consider the source and move on. Maybe if we all did more of that there wouldn't be all these pissed off people wanting to shut each other down.

I agree with you GFGT. I considered the source. That's not what bothered me. INGO's governance for letting this go bothered me. I now applaud them. I don't want to be a scold, but sometimes you have to step up. "I will not hang myself today."
