I don't think all reporters were being "gassed and abused". Not by a long shot. I did find it amusing where they quoted Obama making a comment about the lack of transparency. Talk about pot and kettle...

Given that the investigation was turned over to St. Louis County PD almost from the outset, what Ferguson PD has to say is largely irrelevant. Pay no attention to the overwhelming volume of evidence supporting that the shooting was justifiable use of deadly force in self-defense; let's cast straw-man aspersions on Ferguson PD instead!

Who said all reporters were being gassed and abused by the storm troopers? How many does it have to be before it's wrong? And what about the no fly zone? That wasn't for "safety". that was so they could corral the press into free speech zones and not get footage of their storm troopers from the air. Guess that must have been Okay, too?

The Ferguson riots were one of the few times where I actually support the police being out in riot gear, considering that the Ferguson riots were, you know, rioting, burning down buildings, looting, throwing rocks, bottles, and molotov cocktails, etc. (Oh, and randomly shooting, too - just like they were at the crime scene, which is the real reason that it took several hours to remove the body from the scene.)

After seeing first-hand all the crap that went down, my give-a-damn is pretty-well busted.

First time I've heard of anyone taking pot shots at police at the crime scene. Source?

Refer to this article from the Post-Dispatch.

At 2:11 p.m., Ferguson police logs captured reports of shots fired. At 2:14 p.m., ambulance dispatch noted additional gunshots, then a Code 1000, calling all available jurisdictions to help. Over the next 20 minutes, the first precinct dispatched more than 20 units from at least eight different municipal forces, from Bel-Ridge to St. John to Velda City.

At some point, Chief Jackson said he urged crime scene detectives to hurry up their work. “We’ve got to expedite,” Jackson said he told them. “They said, ‘OK, we’re expediting.’ But then we had a shooting over here, crowd’s coming in, and it’s really not secure there.”

About 2:30 p.m., Calvin Whitaker, the livery service driver, arrived to pick up Brown’s body. One end of Canfield was blocked off by police and emergency vehicles. At the other end, a crowd stood in his way. “They were screaming, ‘Let’s kill the police,’” he said. People flung water bottles at his black SUV, he said, cussed at his wife and called them murderers.

A police officer told them to stay in the car. “You guys do not have vests,” he told them. “The best thing for you to do is get down.” Whitaker and his wife reclined their seats and hunkered down.

Let's hope they share ALL the evidence with the UN including the results of the autopsy showing that Brown was shot first at point blank range in the finger and arm, oh and don't forget to mention Brown's blood in the police vehicle. I'm sure they will... right?
