Is the idea that there are a group people with "buyers remorse," concerning Trump, implausible, because the media is reporting it, or do you simply think it's not as widespread as the media would make you believe?
I might totally be wrong, but I'd be surprised if the president garners more votes than he did when he was originally elected.

It depends how much people end up perceiving that Trump is the least insane candidate. And that’s saying a **** ton! If the economy is still humming along (Tariffs have a good chance of thwarting that), and just focus on the cumulative sanity of policy, I think it’s auite possible Trump could have more votes than 2016. The culture war favors Trump because Progressives are ****ing Crazy right now. We’ll see how “get woke, go broke” plays out at the polls.

I'm not that confident that Trump will win. The electorate is fickle. If Trump's Tariffs stifle the economy, he'll lose. That's what it comes down to for voters who are not ideological voters.

And for the record, I did not say that Trump would lose. I'm careful with my words. I simply stated I'd be surprised if he got the same amount of votes, or more, than he did in '16.

I would not be, but that depends on a lot of factors which I think are impossible to predict right now. He's lived his entire presidency in the upper 30s to lower 40% range. Who'd have thunk he'd get to >50%? But he did last week.

The media, as a whole, will not admit the economy is any better than it was during Obama's administration. Those who do admit the economy has improved attribute the improvement to Obama; it started under his administration so he did it. In fact, the dramatic upswing started after the election. It was based on Trump's supposed policies, not Obama's actual policies.

The press will have four more years to claim Trump is a hate-filled, racist, rapist, Nazi and anyone who doesn't agree with that is also a hate-filled, racist, rapist, Nazi. The only way Trump loses is if the Democrat/Media Complex bullies enough people to vote against him.

Biden is on record now as saying the single most important goal of the Democrats is to "defeat Donald Trump". So, no policies, no plans to make the country better, just more of the same ol' same ol' that we've seen out of them for the last 2 years. Basically "Orange Man Bad".

It's difficult to win with illegals welcome, killing babies, and tax your ass to death as your platform. Gotta tell the herd what they want to hear.

The (supposed) ability to beat Trump in the election is the only (positive) thing he brings to their primaries. Without the 'electibility' thing, he's just a gaffe-prone old white guy who never was able to get out of Obama's shadow

'tis a year and 6 months until the election. What burning issue in the minds of the voters of 2020 is important to take a stand on today? Hmmmm?

I think "Get the moron out of the White House" is good enough....although Uncle Joe isn't the brightest string of lights on the Christmas tree either.

You would rather talk about reparations and "free everything" that the leftside lunatic fringe is putting out?

How about fixing the immigration system (that doesn't include abolishing ICE, tearing down walls and throwing open the doors to all comers), or fixing and simplifying the tax code, how about military spending (increasing or decreasing), how about making healthcare better, or fixing the VA system. How about upgrading the electrical grid and other crumbling infrastructure, or discussing nuclear as a "green" alternative (the only practical one) to coal or gas fired generating plants or... need I go on? But no, none of those things are important. The only thing that's important is "Orange Man Bad".

Bottom line is they have to run on a platform of ejecting the “Bad Orange Man” because all of thier policy proposals suck for the good of the country.

Orange Man is in charge. He's got another year to fix all those things. If he doesn't, it's the democrats fault? Maybe he ought to play a little less golf and quit watching the news and tweeting every simple thought that filters out of his less than capable head and get to work.

Don't worry about the democrats. You boys are in charge. Do something.

Edit: It's too early to start arguing about these topics. You guys go ahead and kibbitz. I'll be back closer to election time. Maybe for the debates. Hmmm....I wonder if any democrat is crazy enough to blame vaccines for mental retardation......

There’s a woman who came up crying to me tonight after the debate. She said her daughter was given that vaccine,” Bachmann said. “She told me her daughter suffered mental retardation as a result. There are very dangerous consequences.”

    No....I doubt that.

But, he still has to work with a house controlled by Democrats and Senate with a thin margin. Of course if he’d tweet less and try not to live up to the image the media paints of him, he may be able to find some political leverage.
