Seriously though, I'm looking into an optic for a pistol, but RMR is more than I want to spend. The Holosun 507c is appealing. Does anyone have any experience with it or can you steer me in a different direction? This would be going on a carry pistol.

I have experience with the holosun brand and If I was going to run a "china" optic on a pistol. That would be the ONLY brand I would choose.
I do have a couple of their rifle red dots and they are bomb proof

Check out the comments on SageDynamics YouTube channel. Tdogg sent me there.

I’m pretty happy with my Vortex Vipers but I won’t argue they are the best or the best value.

I have four at the moment. I prefer the glass in the vortex as opposed to the rmr.

Mine are not duty use so that factors in.
I may have to try one of those at the SGE. I’m very interested in a RMR and wouldn’t mind trying the alternatives. I glanced at Turbo’s Holosun when I was over there and it looked nice as well. I’ll have to think about it!

I’m sure in “the group” we have one of most everything. If you need a test drive sooner, I’m sure I can get an example to you.

When it comes to optics, there is a component that falls after general quality and it is just what your eyes prefer. Especially when age catches up to your vision.
