For semi auto stuff I've always had good success with 30301 and 748 powder. Never owned a .308 bolt gun.

I had issues with 4064 in the M1A which I attributed to the burn rate. It was the first powder I tried for it back in 81.

After about 3 hours in the tumbler, I went to check on it and start rinsing only to find a broken tumbler belt. I rinsed anyway and it looks like it must have had about an hour of run time. The brass is clean but the primer pockets are not pristine like I normally see with wet washing. They are about as clean as I normally see with dry media tumbling. I’ll let them dry overnight and check tomorrow in the sunlight to see if they are good enough to begin sorting or if they need to get dry tumbled in the vibratory tumbler instead.

I hadn't shot the Howa yet since I put a Timney trigger in it and needed to run the Fed 168gr SMK across the chrono also. Pull weight is currently 1.64 lbs on the trigger. Seems to have helped, I beat my previous best 3-shot group of 0.387" at 100 yards, with a new best of 0.254". The 0.477" is my 3rd best and the 0.512" is my 5th best. No complaints there at all.
