I'll be getting packed for another cabin trip ..... hopeful that the morel mushrooms have started popping !
Egg wash, cracker crumbs, and fried in butter = nothing could be finer.

I've put enough rounds through the RAMI that I felt comfortable carrying it yesterday.
It's a bit of a chunky monkey, but it's real steel (with a bit of aluminum)​ !

As a boy this was a seasonal thing with Dads side of the family. The family farm had some really good shroon hunting.
But as I grew up I lost my taste desire for them and wild game.

That can happen ! I never had them when I was younger, as my parents weren't outdoor people. Now, they thrill me !

It was always fun to go to the farm and head out with our sacks. To see who found the most was a challenge.
If we had a huge mess of them the woman folk got in the kitchen and the smells were amazing.

A plate off shroons and squirrel or rabbit (both..)were just wonderful.

Somewhere along the line that went away.

Never intentionally search for a mushroom. Must be a mis-spent youth and adulthood though walking around the woods any day for most any reason sounds just fine....

Yeah, the wife and I have a much tougher time than we used to, but we still get out when we can. The hikes are a lot shorter than they used to be though

Getting ready to head out to the range for a quick test of the sights on the A1 Commander. Love shooting that thing. It needs shot more though.
