All y'all who wish me to have your phone # if I had it in the past, please pm or call my # and leave a msg. My dam phone did a hard reset all by itself and I lost a bunch of numbers. Any assistance is appreciated.
Sorry to hear of your troubles, BA. I can't line up to be a paying custodian for one of your fine creations just yet. Just got back from picking up the replacement pickup in Ohio. Will keep you in my prayers. I know that don't pay the bills.

    PM sent.

I spent a few at the gun bench today. Tore down #3 of 3 1911's that are going out to AllenM for some up-grades as in machine work and color.

    Just a note.
I have decided to buy R-III for myself. In the current market trying to get anywhere near what it is actually worth is not going to happen. Any moneys from its sale were going directly to the Riley children's hospital. With this in mind and the year drawing to a close I wrote a check to the Hospital fund and bought it for myself.
It was never really mine from the start. There were others involved so just keeping it was never an option.
With this it brings the Riley thing to an end.
In this day of no one takes the blame for their own actions, when Lawyers have twisted the system up like a pretzel to stay busy, guns are evil (regardless of the evil they may wield them) I am done. Sadly.

    Thanks to everyone that participated.

Sorry to hear that it has come to an end. Kudos to everyone involved in the effort, who donated time, money and/or talent!

Sad it had to end. I still think it was a noble effort despite all the ups and downs. This process was quite illuminating, more perhaps than some people would have hoped, it still sent a few thousand where it needed to go.

Yes, a Noble effort indeed. Enlightening to say the least but worth it.
I may still put R-III back up when the Market comes around. Again any funds realized will go to the charity. Maybe this spring.

It's sad to see it end, but it sure is something that we can all feel good about. It is a great cause and it really brought out the best in folks. Congrats on adding Riley III to the collection CM. It sucks that there will not be a Riley IV but who knows, maybe one of us will revive the quest one of these days. The Riley guns sure did show why this thread has lived on for tens of thousands of posts. I am happy to have had a small part in it.

I feel honored to be the owner of R-1. That is one CZ that will always be in my possession till the day I die. Then Henri gets it....

    Morning fellas! :coffee:

Has anyone formally created a gun will? A post over in the MPPD thread has me thinking that I should actually write down what I want to happen to the little family I've built. There are some things that I want to go to specific people and I'd hate to see them just scatter to the family. My sons would get the bulk, but there are a few other family members that I think would appreciate one or two. With turning 55 next spring, the realization that s**t happens is taken to heart. None of us are immune to an idiot running a redlight, but as we age, other stuff kicks in and I think that it would be a lot easier on the family if they did not just get a bunch of stuff dumped on them with no idea of what to do with it. I'm thinking of writing something up and letting the wife know where it is should the next stroke be a big one.

    Anyone else done that?

I have let all involved pick the piece they want both fire arm and knife. Beyond that I will empty the safe as I get to a point save for those pieces. If I meet any early end what is in the safe besides those choices will be sold per instructions to those who will do this for me. Money to go to spouse or children

Yes please on the coffee. :coffee:

As for the will, Barb and I have been talking some about that. I really need to get an inventory made up with designees for the important pieces.

I checked out the sights on Cajun Gun Work . . . will be getting then ordered very soon.
    Thanks Wizard
